Parish governments generally have an office or department that is responsible for local level procurement.


City of New Orleans

Provided by The City of New Orleans, Procurement Office
The City of New Orleans Department of Finance Office of Procurement Purchasing Bureau releases Invitations to Bid (ITB or Bids) for all purchases of materials, supplies, equipment, non-professional services, and construction and public works projects based upon various dollar thresholds. City Charter requires all purchases be competitively bid, except professional services. Professional services are obtained through the release of Request for Proposals or Request for Qualifications (RFP or RFQ).

Jefferson Parish

The Purchasing Department is responsible for purchasing all labor, materials, equipment, supplies and services for all departments, based on bid specifications furnished by departments.

Plaquemines Parish

St. Tammany Parish

Provided by St. Tammany Parish Government, Purchasing Department
The Purchasing Department's role is the procurement of all personal property, equipment, materials, supplies and services required by the Parish government under a central purchasing system for all departments, offices and agencies in accordance with applicable state law, council policy and administrative requirements. Responsibility also includes the processing of purchase orders and the administration of public bids and contracts.

Regional Planning Commission

Professional services are obtained through the release of Request for Proposals or Request for Qualifications (RFP or RFQ).

Regional Transit Authority

Provided by the Regional Transit Authority
The RTA in New Orleans uses the EBid System to advertise all procurement opportunities which is a fully functional integrated procurement software system.
