The procurement of goods and services on behalf of a public authority, such as a government agency, is generally closely regulated to prevent fraud, waste or corruption.

The federal government is the largest purchaser of goods and services in the world.

State Procurement

The State of Louisiana has recently implemented a more centralized system for the procurement of goods, services, and major repairs required by state agencies.

Parish governments generally have an office or department that is responsible for local level procurement.

LA-PTAC
